Josiah Hansen seeks to glorify the Lord through all that he thinks, does, and says, and looks forward to New Song Bible Church stewarding his God-given knack for teaching and serving.
I do not remember the exact day or age I was when I accepted Christ into my heart as my Lord and Savior, but I see the profound impact Christ has had in my life. God blessed me with a loving family who walked with the Lord my entire childhood, and stimulated my spiritual maturity daily. Whether it be consistent church attendance, singing songs to the Lord, or even making me watch Veggitales, my family raised me right.
At the age of seven, I sat in our family van outside Antioch Bible Church, when I exclaimed, "I want to be a pastor like you Dad!" My father explained to me all the work that went into being a pastor, and the responsibility you hold. After he finished, my sister Sophia, who could not have been any older than three at the time, gleefully cried, "Yeah, you didn't think about that, did you Do-Do!"
That calling has remained on my heart ever since. I knew what God wanted me to do with my life. And so, I set forth to reach that goal.
I spent fourteen years under the teaching of Providence Classical Christian School. These years were some of the richest and fondest of my life (though in fairness, that accounts for 70% of my life so far). Providence was formative in my life. Through their instruction, I learned how to think and reason for myself. I learned how to speak, present, and debate. I learned hermeneutics, world religions, and apologetics. Providence helped build a foundation for my spiritual growth.
Currently, I attend Northwest University, looking to receive a major in pastoral ministries, and a minor in audio production. Through Northwest, I lead a Turning Point affiliated club, the Freedom and Faith Alliance, where I seek to engage with students in the realm of culture or politics, and have meanignful conversation rooted in Scripture. I look to only expand upon my knowledge of the Word, and how a church ought to act, both to other bodies of believers and to the outside, secular world.
In my freetime, you might find me mixing music, watching sports, eating pho with friends, thrifting, or perhaps even in the theater. If you want to hear me talk more than I already do, feel free to ask me about Disney or Star Wars.
